The system is larger than the installation
A storage vessel, vapouriser, pressure reducing station or manifold may each perform exactly as specified and the overall system may still fail. Interfaces are where pressure is lost, information is missed, responsibilities become unclear and operating assumptions break down.
Design begins with the operating outcome
The starting point should be the service the client must protect: continuity, purity, pressure, capacity, response time and recoverability. Equipment selection follows from that operating requirement rather than leading it.
Every interface needs an owner
Reliable systems define who controls supply, inventory, quality release, maintenance, emergency response and change. When responsibility is fragmented, technical performance is left to chance.
The same principle applies across sectors
Medical oxygen, nitrogen for food processing, argon for fabrication, carbon dioxide for beverage production and oxygen for metallurgy all depend on the same discipline: integrate the technical system with the operating system.
The equipment is visible. The system that makes it dependable is not.
